TW3 in case you didn’t know stands for ThatWas The Week That Was, which was a popular satirical TV programme in the 60s, hosted by David Frost. I thought it would be a cool title for a post summarising what we’ve been up to this week.
So what have we been up to?
As you know from my previous post & Tara‘s comment, last Sunday evening we went to Leeds to see The Civil Wars.
Other than that there were two highlights in the week, firstly I passed the two CIMA exams I sat a few weeks ago. I knew the results were out on Thursday and past experience told me that the e-mail notifying students of their results was posted overnight. I was for some reason wide awake at 4:00am, so I logged on to the laptop and found my results then. Needless to say, I was quite excited when I found out I’d passed, and as you can imagine, Tara was not fully awake (comatose would be a good description!), but she roused herself to congratulate me!
The other main highlight was the result of the Anglo American Scrabble contest we’ve been having. We’re both big Scrabble fans, and prior to this weekend had played six games, with the spoils being shared evenly. We decided to make it first to five, and with us winning one each yesterday, we played the decider this morning. Despite me getting a 50 point bonus for using all my tiles, Tara eventually won in a closely fought game.
I’d like to say she’d won graciously, but I’m afraid gloating has been the order of the day! And yes, i’d be exactly the same!
As for other stuff going on in the week, we planted a load of herbs last weekend. For you Americans, that’s Erbs, apparently the H is silent!
We’ve also planted some strawberries at Tara‘s and some potatoes in my house.
As I type, the Chiminea in the garden is smoking away, as part of it’s curing process. That’ll be ready for the summer along with the BBQ.
Looking forward to tonight, it’s another trip to Leeds, this time to see Pokey LaFarge at Brudenell Social Club.
